Doug Koster has 20 years of experience organizing, promoting and managing youth
basketball tournaments, high school team camps and college exposure tournaments.
In 2011, Koster's events will feature nearly 1,000 teams from more than 15 states & 300 college coaches from
nearly 30 states will attend the college
exposure events.
Our consulting service provides a combination of hard copies of our various
forms, schedules, letters and game day materials, sponsorship packages and more,
along with in person time to explain our strategy for organizing a successful
youth tournament.
Koster organized the first Mr. Basketball tournament in 1992 and quickly
expanded the single event into a very successful, full-time basketball promotion
business. With vast experience in all facets of event organization, including
team recruitment, sponsorship sales, merchandising, staffing and game day operations, Doug can
help your event maximize its
potential.
Doug's experience can be of great value to tournament director's of all age
level events, recreation facility directors who need programming, youth
programs who host or would like to host a tournament as a fundraiser and
community sport commissions interested in attracting, or hosting their own
event.
If you are interested in putting our experience to work for you, simply
email
Doug, or call 308-237-4012. Doug's services are available to events and
organizations nationwide and can be tailored to meet your needs.
One recent client, an NCAA Division II program from out-of-state wrote:
"I have
watched Doug take an idea and build a type of empire with his
knowledge of team camps and tournaments. The session and materials
he provided for our staff is the same method that Doug spent many
years perfecting. I would have never trusted someone else to give
me advice for our programs. I have seen what Doug has done with the
materials he provided. Doug is the envy of many individuals and
organizations who attempt to enter the field of team camps and
tournaments. I strongly recommend Doug’s consulting service.
More importantly, I recommend you follow the advice of his service.
Our staff will certainly take that advice." (source available

Examples of the growth of our events include two youth tournaments that started
with just 40 teams and within just a couple of years were maxing-out (and
continue to) at 222 teams. A boy's team camp quickly grew from 24 teams in the
first year, to 56 teams, to 88 teams and now annually attracts around 100 teams.
Our girl's team camp experienced similar growth from 24 to 96 teams.
Mr. Basketball Inc. was named the 2008 Small Business
of the Year at the 90th Annual Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce banquet
on March 2, 2009. The annual award honors recipients for their impact on
economic growth in the Kearney Area, creativity, community involvement
and leadership. Doug Koster was
presented the 2008 Marketer of the Year award by the University of
Nebraska at Kearney chapter of the American Marketing Association.
"Organization has been the seed of our success. I have no doubt my experience
running more than 150 tournaments in the last 20 years can help your event be
more organized, more marketable and more profitable." - Doug Koster. |
