2011 Showcase Champions

The 2011 Miss Basketball Showcase featured 64 prep girl’s all-star teams from 11 states. KS Eclipse Sparq 15 finished with a perfect record of 8-0. Kansans Claim Miss Basketball Title

KEARNEY — In the Miss Basketball Showcase championship, Kansas Eclipse-Sparq 15 defeated Colorado Sharpshooters, 45-39.

The Eclipse led 25-16 at halftime but Colorado Sharpshooters fought back within three, 42-39, on a 3-pointer by Miranda Beal, who led her team with 17 points.

Kansas Eclipse answered with a free throw by Katelyn Loecker, who led all scorers with 18 points. Emily Wood, who finished with 11, made two free throws with 45 seconds left to account for the final score.

In the semifinals, Kansas Eclipse defeated Sophia Young Elite from Texas, while Colorado Sharpshooters defeated Oklahoma Shock 2012-Diaz.

In the quarterfinals, the Shock beat Pinnacle Bank Nebraska, while Colorado Sharpshooters defeated Nebraska Twisters. Pinnacle Bank and Twisters were the last two Nebraska teams in the championship bracket.
